The 80th AFA Council Meeting in Melbourne Australia

The 80th AFA Council Meeting jointly hosted by CPA Australia and The Institute of Cettified Accountants in Australia (ICAA) was held on May 15,2004 at CPA House, Melbourne, Australia. There were representatives from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippine, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and Mongolia in attendance. Apologises were sent by Cambodia and Lao for not being able to attend the meeting.

The meeting was started with a welcome note and calling to order from Dr Dang Van Thanh, AFA President . After that Dr Thanh confirmed the agenda of the meeting with all delegates. Followed by the approval of the 79th AFA Council Meeting 's minutes, the minutes was confirmed as the correct record accordingly.

Various issues were discussed during the meeting. The main issues discussed were Liberalization of Accounting and Auditing Service, the Training cooperation among AFA member bodies, AFA as a regional Body of IFAC, the Development of the Status of Accountancy Profession from member bodies. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the President, Deputy President and the hosts of the AFA Council Meeting.
